The light adaptable spirit is able to blend into his or her environment such that hardly anyone notices, but they at the same time are a balm to wounds, ever ready to apply the right response to the given situation at hand. Being adaptable obviously requires an abundance of humility–the ability to be other-centred, but not to the loss of self. Anger and Spiritual Growth
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009Most of us have experienced anger that is devoid of love. It is the anger of abuse and prejudice. This anger says you have no right to exist -period. Once we set off on a healing path, we often make a vow that we will no longer engage in this type of thinking let alone any action that looks like anger. We even feel shame sometimes when we act this way. We may strive to be loving and kind, sometimes we may even sacrifice in order to remain this way. This distance from anger can be wonderful and healing as we become less abusive to others and ourselves. However, it can also be detrimental when we take it to such an extreme that we try to eliminate anger and the essential role it plays in our humanness.
The "Does it Love Me" Diet
Monday, June 29th, 2009When I was recently visiting my in-laws in New York City for the holidays, we attended a dinner with two other couples. I felt stuffed after eating two of them. From there, I proceeded to large portions of lobster bisque, scallops, and berry trifle for dessert. I must admit that I had to loosen the zipper of my skirt a bit (attractive, I know) so that I could sit more comfortably, but it’s the holidays, after all, right?

Practicing Non-Judgment Can Change the World
Thursday, June 25th, 2009We are all an expression of God, and by accepting that it is our perceptions and judgments that cut us off from experiencing the Divine, we can begin to see and live in a reality that is based on truth and love rather than good and bad. By changing our judgments about ourselves and our existence, we can truly change the world.
