Could one book, read by one person change the world. One book written by Henry David Thoreau called “Walden”, changed the lives of people in India and the United States of America. These people were treated like second-class citizens and soon were inspired to change because of one person gave them hope that they could.

The Eighth Principle of Universal Design

In 1997 NCSU Center for Universal Design copyrighted 7 brilliant Principles of Universal Design. They focused on how a person physically functions in their environment and propose design objectives to enable people with physical limitations to function as well as those without. This article imagines an 8th principle. It examines how one is perceived in an environment and how we might intentionally design so that an environment doesn’t lead us to making unfair prejudgments of others.
