We can change reality by shifting our beliefs and emotions toward a positive intention. However, it is easy for the mind to contradict intentions that are not yet reality. Fortunately, gratitude is hard to argue with. Gratitude enables the mind and emotions to notice those things that we currently feel positive about. If you want to generate prosperity, notice the small things that you are currently grateful for. That feeling of gratitude and prosperity will grow into a brighter more abundant future.

Positive affirmation has been a practice that has been going round since a very long time ago and now you can be a more confident person with the benefits of this method. It is not classified as a technology, although the old ideals behind this method has spawned many a scientific arena and machinery (some of note include the ever famous Dream Machine). The root of this method can be tracked back to methods that have been compared to things like creative visualisation and gratitude, which use the same methods of message and visual bombardment to shape the mind into a positive attitude and get rid of all the bad associations that the subconscious might be keeping; affecting your behaviour and how you react to experiential situations.

Gratitude is not only the greatest of all virtues, but the parent of all others ” – Cicero, 420 AD. Recently one of my friends told me about a book called Thanks! How the New Science of Gratitude Can Make You Happier by Dr. Robert Emmons. It’s a fascinating book that shows his very poignant research findings which are relevant for all of us who are struggling with financial issues, parenting challenges, and everyday trials and tribulations. Dr. Emmons stated that at first he thought gratitude was a simplistic emotion, but he discovered in fact that it is a very complex phenomenon that can measurably change people’s lives.

In my last article, I wrote about Dr Emmons’ cutting edge research on the nature of gratitude. He defines gratitude as: “A virtue and an emotion – a knowing awareness that we are the recipients of goodness”. His view is that gratitude is the best approach to life. Now let’s continue to Dr Emmons’ next 5 outstanding prescriptions for the basic practice of gratitude.
