As a child, I looked forward to the “big” things such as birthdays, outings, holidays, vacations, and the yearly trip to the county fair–always longing for something more special than what occurred every day. As a teen, I could hardly wait for those things that stood out, that made a day more than average: first date, first kiss, first love, prom nights, first car.
